of pain:

1 The Abdominable Ache

The A.A. is a constant aching that sometimes doesn’t go away for up to an hour. It tends to make me feel very run down and tired. Also with this pain you can’t ease it with a hot pack or gel.

2 The Silver needle

This is a very thin but very penetrating pain usually in the elbows or ankles.

3 Frankenstein’s Bolt

This pain feels like someone has inserted a rusty old bolt into my joint so that it restricts movement. When I do move it feels as though little flakes of rust are flaking off into my joint.

4 The Pepper Pot Pain

Have you ever used a pepper grinder? If you have, imagine that your joint is the grinder, and whenever you bend the joint it feels as though the bones are grinding together. Got that? Now add Musical Joints (5) and Frankenstein’s Bolt (3) and you will know how the Pepper Pot Pain feels. The P.P.P. occurs most often in my shoulders and feels as though there are millions of little bones all grinding together.

5 Musical Joints

If you play an instrument you realize that it is very important to practice often. Well if you can play your joints like me then you’ll soon realize that "The Click" wears thin after a while. Also with a normal instrument I expect that it doesn’t give you a sharp pain if you play it too loud.

6 Techtonic Plates

This is when my joints (especially my knees) shift out of place (I’m hyper mobile/double jointed).

7 Mexican Wave

This is when the entire vertebra in my spine creak and click in a sort of Mexican wave motion.

8 The Bubble

Have you ever had a bubble in your finger before - around the joint? Then when it "burst" it hurt your finger? Well The Mushroom is a bubble that can grow around any joint and doesn’t burst straight away but waits as a mixture of Franks Bolt (3) and the A.A. (1) until bursting sharply resulting in a lot of pain.

Well that’s it for today. Tune in next week for another Hall of Pain hosted and written by
